Lunch Break ... and Onward!
In 1908, photographer William L. Finley and friends are on their way to a site in the eastern Oregon backcountry. Note the chains on the rear tires for better traction. However, the chains weren't always enough. The second photo shows the photo crew hand digging a path for their rig through the desert sand.
